Our Ministry Orientation
We're rooted in a transcendent vision of God's free and self-emptying love for all humanity and the whole creation; in the Incarnate Mystery of 'God-in-Christ'; and in a 'generous orthodox', 'ecumenical progressive' and 'globally emergent' Christian faith that seeks to thoughtfully, creatively, compassionately and courageously engages the contemporary society and world in which we live.
We seek to engage life-long learners and spiritual seekers with the trinitarian vision of God's creative, liberating and transforming love for all humanity and the whole creation, especially as revealed in the light of the mystery of the Incarnate, Crucified and Risen Christ.
We embrace 'the deep ecumenical spirit' that seeks to connect the lessons and insights of the Apostolic, Patristic, Orthodox, Mystical, Monastic, Catholic, Celtic, Anglican, Protestant, Evangelical, Reformed, Radical, Progressive, Liberationist, Eco-Feminist, Emergent Process, and Global Wisdom traditions.
We seek to advance a knowledge and understanding of the whole spectrum of religious and secular perspectives now shaping our pluralist society and emerging world civilization. We recognize the importance of thoughtful reflection and creative dialog between the world's religious faiths and secular ideologies as we endeavor to build bridges of mutual respect and understanding. This involves preparing contemporary Christians not only for ecumenical (intra-faith) dialog but also for interfaith dialog with the perennial eastern non-dualist religions, the modern western secular humanisms, and the post-modern global eclectic and integral perspectives.
We offer a pluralistic and integrative approach to religious faith and spiritual practice, inviting persons from all backgrounds and traditions to tell their stories and share their experiences in a hospitable and accepting environment.
